Anti-oppressive therapy
Get to know yourself, reclaim confidence, and be more at peace in your life.
Are you facing difficult decisions or life changes and feeling lost? Have you experienced a traumatic loss or event and don’t know how to cope? Are you feeling out of place in this world, and you wonder if you can ever become more comfortable and accepting of yourself?
I will strive to collaborate with you authentically to create a space that responds to your needs.

Anti-oppressive practice
I provide Neuro-affirmative and Culturally Aware support and have experience working with migrants, people with mixed heritage, neurodivergent people, activists, queer folks, or those leading non-normative lives such as polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous lifestyles.

Commitment
I am committed to learning and developing an anti-oppressive approach in my practice as I firmly believe the impact of the social context and injustice on mental health need to be considered in therapy. Your experiences of inequality or discrimination will not be dismissed.

Flexibility
Everyone’s needs and capacities are different. We will work together to figure out what frequency, pace, and style of work are best suited to your needs. Your lived experience will be honoured, and we will collaborate in your journey to heal and make meaning from your perspective.

Experience
Working with a therapist who is experienced in anti-oppressive practice might be what you need to finally unlock your truth. My background in the social sciences and psychosocial research can support our work in understanding your story, without imposing cookie-cutter narratives.
About lucia
I experienced healing through the therapeutic relationship myself and then decided to train as a therapist. I now have the skills to accompany others in this process.
Originally from South America, I have a background in Sociology and Political Science. I am now undertaking doctoral research in the field of Psychosocial Studies.

Choosing Therapy
The therapeutic space can be the safe environment a person needs in order to heal and grow, especially if such a space does not exist in one’s current life. Counselling and Psychotherapy can help you:
- gain insights into your current situation and expand your choices
- understand how your environment might be impacting your wellbeing in order to protect yourself
- better understand yourself, your needs, and aspirations
- improve your relationship with yourself and others
- learn emotional regulation and self-care
- increase your confidence and self-esteem
- learn to uphold effective boundaries
By working with a therapist, you are giving yourself the opportunity to live a happier, more fulfilling life.
